BRC stands for British Retail Consortium which is made up of the majority of national retailers and foodservice providers. The BRC Global Standard ‚ Food is an internationally recognised set of guidelines developed in the late 90’s to standardise the application of food safety systems across the food industry and to eliminate multiple audit by retailer technical representatives of food manufacturers supplying the UK Retailer with own brand products.
